On Friday, Katharine McPhee quickly canceled the last two performances of her cross-Asia music tour with husband David Foster, citing "a terrible tragedy in our family" forcing her must return to the United States. While the singer and music producer has yet to comment on the emergency, reports of the tragic event have occurred.
After the former American Idol contestant's statement, which read: "David and I have had a terrible family tragedy and at least one of us needs to go home to our family," sources have told TMZ about the crisis.

According to people close to McPhee, the news agency confirmed the couple's nanny, who was blamed for their 2-year-old son Rennie, died unexpectedly. It is unclear if she was taking care of the child while McPhee and Foster were on tour or what the circumstances of her death were. The film has clearly shaken the singer, who sees their nanny as part of the family.
TMZ reports that McPhee is currently on his way back to the United States. It's unclear if Foster will continue the last two shows without his wife. In his statement, McPhee wrote, "It is with great sadness that I have to miss the last two shows of our Asia tour." She added, "Please know how sorry I am and how I want to come back one day and play for you all."
